Financial watchdogs the Thrifty Scot, have endorsed debt consolidation finance as a viable option for those looking to correct their debt problems.
More people are struggling with debt in 2007 as a result of interest rate rises combined with a number of other household bills which are difficult to manage.
In a new report on managing debt, the group commented: "It (debt consolidation) has the advantage that managing your debt will be easier, and even more importantly, you should be able to get the single loan for a lower APR than the confusing, and possibly high, rates of your current multiple debts."
