The debt management company, Debt Free Direct has handed in a file of complaints against rival companies regarding their misleading radio advertisements.
Accuma, Spectrum and W3 Debt Solutions were among the companies named in the dossier, who advertised that they could right off up to 80% of people’s debts.
The ASA are now feeling the heat to begin a full inquiry after George Osborne the shadow chancellor, accused the debt management industry of making consumers believe that debts were something they could easily duck.
A spokesman for Accuma said the advert mentioned in question had been withdrawn earlier this month. However, Spectrum and W3 Debt Solutions were unavailable for comment.
