Credit providers in the UK are still lending people money without properly investigating whether they will be able to pay it back and won't just struggle with debt.
That's the view of uSwitch who say that credit cards, personal loans and other forms of unsecured credit are still being granted without the proper checks being carried out.
According to research from the group, 70% of people who take out loans are never asked for proof of income when they tell credit providers what they earn in order to secure their loan.
